ABOUT Dr. Nicolas Campos, D.C.

Dr. Nicolas Campos, D.C. was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. An avid sports fan, he spent his youth playing sports and learning about physical fitness.
In 1975 his mother visited a chiropractor for the first time to be treated for a neck injury. At these visits she learned about the powerful healing abilities of the
human body and the capacity of chiropractic to facilitate this healing.

Wanting her entire family to receive the health benefits of chiropractic, Mrs. Campos brought Nicolas and his brother and sister along on subsequent visits. He was seven years old when he received his first chiropractic adjustment.

CHIROPRACTIC EDUCATION
Nicolas Campos was educated at U.C. Berkeley and received his degree in Molecular and Cell Biology in 1994. His emphasis of study was in the rapidly growing field of Immunology.

To help pay his way through college, Nicolas taught workshops in organic chemistry and biochemistry to U.C. Berkeley students through the prestigious Scholar’s Program. It was his job to teach these subjects to minority students underrepresented in the health sciences.
Upon graduating, he moved to Southern California to pursue a doctorate degree in chiropractic. He felt that entering this field would be the perfect way to combine his love of sports with his insatiable interest in human health.

At Cleveland Chiropractic College of Los Angeles, Nicolas studied the academics of chiropractic health care as well as the fascinating philosophy behind the practice. He also spent numerous hours practicing the art of chiropractic adjusting, clocking over one hundred hours of extra-curricular seminar time learning chiropractic technique. Recognizing the value of a broad chiropractic education, he extensively studied over ten adjusting techniques including Gonstead, Diversified, Cranio-Sacral, Activator, Network, NET, SOT, Cox, and Thompson Technique.

In addition to his chiropractic studies, Nicolas pursued his love of sports by studying sports injury and rehabilitation protocols and procedures. During his clinic rounds, he was one of only five students to be trained in the Chiropractic Rehabilitation Program.

Dr. Nicolas Campos, D.C. was also honored by being chosen as one of only four students to complete a portion of their clinic requirements at the Los Angeles Mission. This program was designed to provide chiropractic care to the city’s homeless and recovering drug addicts. He found it particularly rewarding to provide such a positive influence in the lives of many who were often struggling just to make it through the day.

Following four years of study, Dr. Nicolas Campos, D.C. graduated Magna Cum Laude from CCCLA in 2000. Among his accomplishments was the development of the Cleveland Chiropractic Student Sports Program. This program allowed students to participate in the annual Chiropractic Olympics held throughout the country. Dr. Nicolas Campos, D.C. also honed his speaking skills as the president of Club Chiropractic, an enormously popular philosophical focus group. He also acted as a guest lecturer in the school’s Science Club.

Following graduation, Dr. Nicolas Campos, D.C. secured an extern position at the prominent Beverly Hills Chiropractic Center, under Dr. Patrick DeFazio. He furthered his studies in sports chiropractic and rehabilitation by earning a post-graduate degree from the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians. The prestigious C.C.S.P. (Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician) is necessary to work within the professional and collegiate athletic arena.

As a chiropractor, Dr. Nicolas Campos, D.C. specializes in the treatment of low back pain and neck/shoulder disorders. As a sports physician, his focus is on golf related injuries, disorders of the shoulder girdle, and biomechanicaldisorders of the feet.

Dr. Nicolas Campos, D.C. spends his spare time studying philosophy and various healing arts practiced around the world. He also is an avid writer, focusing primarily on health and wellness but also writes about political and economic issues surrounding the United States healthcare system.

Dr. Nicolas Campos, D.C. subscribes to the wellness philosophy that he calls the Six Key Model. This paradigm for total health maintains that optimal health and wellness can be obtained through the nurturing of six key areas. These areas are diet/nutrition, physical fitness/exercise, rest/recuperation, mind/mental health, toxin avoidance and body work. By addressing these six key areas, each individual can attain his or her highest level of well being as well as prevent chronic, degenerative and life threatening illnesses. (See Six Keys to Optimal Health)

Dr. Nicolas Campos, D.C. established the West Hollywood Healing Arts Center in 2002 with the idea that people are whole beings with many facets to their health. They should therefore be treated as whole beings and not merely conditions or ailments. To this aim, the West Hollywood Healing Arts Center offers a wide range of health services for its clients and provides referrals for many more.
